Speaker Bio:

Laura Wilwerding, M.D., I.B.C.L.C, F.A.A.P., F.A.B.M.

Dr. Wilwerding is a full time pediatrician and mother of four daughters. She is a Clinical Associate Professor in the department of Pediatrics at the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) with her primary practice located in Plattsmouth, Nebraska. A breastfeeding medicine expert, she is an internationally board certified lactation consultant (2008), and serves as the Nebraska American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) Chapter Breastfeeding Coordinator (2001-present). She is also involved in the Nebraska Breastfeeding Coalition and serves on the Leadership Team. As a fellow of the International Academy of Breastfeeding Medicine, she has access to a global network of breastfeeding experts. Dr. Wilwerding also serves on the Partners N Health Advisory Group. She teaches medical students and residents both clinically and through lecture at UNMC.
